What the claims are about
The theory is a product one. It is not that a company published something harmful, it is that the product itself was designed in a way that caused foreseeable harm to minors.
That distinction is why these cases exist at all, and it is also the thing being fought over.

Federal cases are consolidated before one judge for pretrial purposes. A parallel coordinated proceeding runs in California state court. School districts have brought separate actions on a different theory.
Deadlines, and why they are different for children
Every state limits how long after an injury a claim can be brought. Most states pause that clock for a minor until they reach majority, which changes who still has a claim and by when.
The rules differ by state and the details matter. This is the single most common reason a family finds out too late.
