If your child is in danger right now

Call or text 988 for the Suicide and Crisis Lifeline, or text HOME to 741741 for the Crisis Text Line. Both are free, confidential and open all day and night.

Why the doctor comes first

A family doctor or pediatrician can check the physical things that produce identical symptoms, assess mood and sleep, and refer. A referral moves faster than a cold search, and in many insurance plans it is what unlocks coverage.

You can call and describe what you have seen before bringing your child in. Most practices expect that.

What this section does not do

It does not recommend a provider, a platform, an app or a program. Nobody pays to appear here and this site takes no fee for a referral. If that changes, it will say so on this page before it appears anywhere else.

Everything in this section

Three different kinds of help

These are separate on purpose. A parent looking for clinical help should never arrive in a legal intake queue by accident.

Getting help

A family doctor first, the school counselor second, a therapist third. The first two are faster and cheaper, and both can refer you onward.

Finding help

We do not provide treatment and take no payment from anyone who does.

Reporting and resources

Reporting an image or an adult, what a school can actually do, and the organizations worth your time.

Resources

Nobody pays to be listed and listing is not endorsement.
